The difference between straight spiral steel bars and coil spiral steel bars

The difference between straight spiral steel bars and coil spiral steel bars

1. Material difference

The material of straight spiral steel bar is wire rod. After a single processing and drawing on the drawing machine, the diameter is small, and a combined pattern is pressed on the surface, which has good mechanical properties. The material of coiled steel bar is steel bar coiled wire continuous tube round steel. After mixing and rolling, the surface pattern is more obvious, and the bonding performance is stronger after bending.

2. Production process difference

The production process of straight spiral steel bar is similar to that of ordinary round steel. Steel is processed into straight spiral steel bar with smaller diameter by drawing machine and other equipment, and then surface treatment is performed. The process is relatively simple. Coiled steel bar needs to be completed through multiple rounds of combined processing, so the production process is more complicated.

3. Use difference

Due to the differences in materials and production processes, the uses of straight spiral steel bar and coiled steel bar are also different. Straight spiral steel bar is widely used in various concrete structures, such as bridges, water conservancy projects, tunnels, etc.; while coiled steel bar is mainly used in building earthquake-resistant support structures, high-rise buildings and other projects with higher requirements for steel bar quality and performance.

In short, although both straight spiral steel bars and coiled steel bars are commonly used construction steel products, they have obvious differences in material, production process and use. When selecting and using steel, comprehensive consideration should be given to factors such as project requirements, material properties and purchase cost.
