What are the grades of ferritic stainless steel
Ferritic stainless steel has a body-centered cubic (BCC) crystal structure, and the main ferritic steels include the 400 series. It has a high chromium content, ranging from 11% to 27%, but contains only a small amount of nickel or no nickel. Ferritic stainless steel has a low carbon content (about 0.03%), which makes it highly ductile and formable, and easy to process into thinner specifications. It is often used in automotive exhaust systems, electrical appliances, boilers, cookers, and indoor construction. Ferritic stainless steel has similar properties to mild steel, but because it contains a large amount of chromium, it can form a protective oxide layer on the surface to prevent corrosion, so it has better corrosion resistance, but its corrosion resistance is not as good as austenitic stainless steel.
For example, 430, 434, 409
